Actor Dhanush’s recent flick Vada Chennai, which hit the screens on October 17, received positive responses from critics and the audience alike. The movie is going strong in its second week and has minted over Rs 50 crore worldwide. According to trade experts Vada Chennai is expected to earn more as there are no big releases until Diwali 2018.
In 12 days of its theatrical run, the film has collected Rs 4.72 crore in Chennai alone. Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2 released alongside Vada Chennai, but it did not come close to the box office collection of the Dhanush-starrer.
According to reports, Vada Chennai is the highest-grossing A-rated film in Tamil Nadu, which is followed by Ajith’s Billa 2. Meanwhile, Vetri Maaran revealed that he has removed the lovemaking scene featuring Ameer and Andrea Jeremiah as the fishing community found it offensive. Instead, two new scenes have been added to Vada Chennai.
