After having a series of issues, including the title issue, Mersal, the much-awaited Vijay film, will most likely hit the screens on Wednesday for, the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) is said to have given their nod to releasing the film.
If you recall, the film wasn’t issued an NOC by the AWBI for their usage of a few animals without permission. And that stopped them from getting the certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification. But now, a source tells us, “Yes, the movie has been approved by AWBI in a special meeting that was held on Monday.
The makers of the film have cut many of the scenes involving animals from the movie. Only two minutes of animal footage is now shown in the film.”
