Home Vijay

Earlier we had reported earlier that director AR Murugadoss’s Thalapathy 62 has been given special permission to shoot during the strike. The team, including actor Vijay, is shooting at a film set near Central Station, Chennai.

When news of the shoot broke, his fans gathered near the Thalapathy 62 set to catch a glimpse of actor Vijay. The Mersal actor, too, decided to surprise his followers by meeting them for a few seconds.

A video of Vijay waving his hand at his fans has gone viral on social media. His enthusiastic fans were seen cheering for him the whole time.

Here is the video:

A R Rahman has confirmed that he had begun composing tunes for the untitled Vijay starrer. To be directed by A R Murugadoss, the film is in the pre-production stage with the director assembling his cast and crew. In the meantime, A R Rahman has begun composing the tunes and has reportedly roped in singer Bamba Bakya to croon for a song. It may be mentioned here that the singer had sung a song in the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 album and it is expected to be released soon.

Vijay’s last release was Mersal and interestingly, A R Rahman had composed the music for this flick as well. Both the music director and the star are associating for the second time in a row which has upped the expectations for this album.

While there were a lot of expectations that Vijay would render a song for the Mersal album, he did not. Being an accomplished singer himself, it needs to be seen if Vijay’s vocals would be used for one of the songs in the upcoming album. The producers of the film, Sun Pictures had tweeted earlier, “Sun Pictures is happy to announce that A.R.Rahman will be the Music Director for the upcoming Thalapathy Vijay’s Movie. Heroine will be Keerthy Suresh, Cameraman – Girish Gangatharan and Editor – Sreekar Prasad.#Vijay62WithSunPictures.”

Vijay, who is on a vacation with family in China, is expected to return back to the city on January 13th. According to sources, the star will join the sets of the untitled film soon after the Pongal holidays.

Mersal, Vijay’s last outing which released for Diwali, was one of the biggest commercial hits. Made on a budget of Rs. 120 crores, the film collected Rs. 250 crores at the box office worldwide.

Despite numerous warning from Vishal, the actor who is also the President of Producers’ Council and Secretary of Nadigar Sangam, Tamilrockers and other torrent sites have leaked the Vijay’s latest release Mersal full movie online.

The websites have apparently uploaded the full movie of different qualities hours after the movie was released on wednesday, October 18.

Tamil rockers warned the Mersal team that Mersal HD print of the movie will be uploaded on the release date in a few hours. Piracy has badly affected not only Kollywood, but other film industries across the world. Although many strict measures and policies have been implemented by governments, none of them has been successful in curbing this menace.

Almost all big movies these days make it to the internet within a day of release. While some movies made their way to the internet (with good or poor print quality) within a day of release, there have been instances when some movies were leaked online even before they hit theatres.

Earlier today, 16 minutes scene of Mersal movie got leaked online in a few hours after the release. ScamRIP version of Mersal movie already leaked by the team and they plan to release HD version of Mersal movie soon today. On the other end, Thenandal Studios confirms that Tamilrockers website will be blocked soon and will not be accessible by anyone in India.

Meanwhile, Mersal has received positive reviews. The engaging story backed by Vijay’s amazing performance has impressed the viewers.

We from the Kollyspy team never support piracy. We request our audience to watch Mersal movie in theaters instead of watching online or downloading from the torrent websites.

After much wait, the Vijay film Mersal has finally hits the screens today on this Deeepavali 2017. As expected, the movie is getting a good response from the Overseas audience all over the world. The movie is directed by young director Atlee and produced by Thenandal Studios.

Movie Cast:

SJ Suriya
Kaajal Agarwal
Nithya Menon
Kovai Sarala

A magician comes to India and finds his long lost brother who is a doctor in USA. He learns about his identity and decides to take revenge for those who killed his parents. The screenplay aims at confusing the audience to make them believe that a magician-doctor is on a killing spree as it wants to set them up for a big surprise revelation.

The surprise is that the protagonist has an identical twin, who reveals his identity in a pre-interval action sequence. It would have been, indeed, a major twist in the narration, only if the filmmakers had taken extra care to prevent spoilers.

  •  Vijay Steal the show. Vijay asusual rocks in fight, dance & comedy scenes
  • All songs are colourful, soulful and well choreographed. Just excellent.
  • Compared to other leading ladies Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal, the role played by Nithya Menen is far more powerful.
  • Sathyaraj plays, an investigating officer and Vadivelu plays sidekick for both Veri and Maran characters. Atlee has been fair and created enough space for these actors to shine in this film rather than simply be fillers.
  • S J Suryah’s performance is in the second part during the flashback scenes are treat to watch.

  • There are also many loose ends in the story and unexplained questions. For example, how come a popular hospital in the village was deserted in the night?
  • Slow Flashback & Story
  • So much so that a bloody violent crime goes unnoticed.

Director Atlee has ensured that there is never a boring moment on the big screen and that aspect of the movie outweighs the logical follies in the narration. We can easily say tha from start to finish, Mersal is all about Vijay, and Ilayathalapathy does not disappoin. Mersal has the makings of being one of the biggest hits of the year.

RATING: Double Deepavali bonanza for Vijay [4/5]

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ will be hitting cinema screens in 2 days from now. The actor’s massive cutout is being erected across Sri Lanka as they are very much a part of frenzied release day celebrations.

According to local media reports the big poster was built in Valvettithurai area, which is the center of the armed struggle for the Eelam Liberation was ripped from its base last night.

After having a series of issues, including the title issue, Mersal, the much-awaited Vijay film, will most likely hit the screens on Wednesday for, the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) is said to have given their nod to releasing the film.

If you recall, the film wasn’t issued an NOC by the AWBI for their usage of a few animals without permission. And that stopped them from getting the certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification. But now, a source tells us, “Yes, the movie has been approved by AWBI in a special meeting that was held on Monday.

The makers of the film have cut many of the scenes involving animals from the movie. Only two minutes of animal footage is now shown in the film.”

Mersal is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

As you all know that Vijay’s Mersal is one of the most anticipated films of 2017 and the release date is just four days away and there is already a lot of hype around the movie. So here are 7 reasons why you should not miss the film.

1.  The one, Two and Three Vijay
This is the first time Thalapathy Vijay will be seen playing three different characters in a film. As the teaser has already revealed that he will be playing a magician, farmer-kind-of-role, the expectations are high.

2. Vadivelu is Back
The social media is already abuzz with the screenshots of the promo video showing Vadivelu’s dialogue ‘Sillakki dum’. We hope this is a turning point for the ace comedian after his break from acting.

3. Three Sexy Sirens
Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen, this is a dream come true for any director to have all these beautiful actresses together in a film. It would be interesting to see all three of them in action. Their roles are touted to be very interesting and the audience can’t wait to see what’s in store for them.

4. AR Rahman’s music
‘Aazhaporan Tamizhan’ has already become a huge hit among fans, so are the rest of the songs in the album. It is a treat for Vijay fans to have the background music of the film composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman.

5. SJ Suryah
SJ Suryah is a perfect antagonist for Thalapathy Vijay. The expectations on SJ Suryah have gone up after his splendid performance in AR Murugadoss’s Spyder.

6. The Budget
The numbers are truly shocking as no previous release of Vijay, going by some reliable trade pundits, has been made on a budget of over Rs 100 crore. These numbers have already set the expectations very high for the film, which reunites Vijay with director Atlee after last year’s Theri.

7. Director Atlee
As you all know that there are several directors who are eager to work with Vijay, but this young director got an opportunity to direct him again. Director Atlee, who made his debut in 2013 with Raja Rani, has worked as an assistant director with ace director Shankar on many films. There are high expectations from the young director. Since he is young, people feel he understands the pulse of the youth and Vijay fans in particular.

Days ahead of the scheduled release of Mersal, actor Vijay met with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswa...

We had reported on Saturday that the upcoming Vijay-starrer Mersal has run into trouble with the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), which has revealed that it has not granted an NOC, which is necessary for a film to get certified by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Interestingly, the makers had tweeted on October 6 that the film has been certified U/A, and on Friday evening, the CBFC came out with a statement saying they haven’t issued a certificate to the film.

While the makers of Mersal remain unavailable for any comments on these issues. The source says that a series of events has led to the current situation.

Talking about how the issue developed, he says:

  • The team started shooting after getting pre-shoot permissions from us. They have used a lot of animals in the film and they got permissions for this part by part. For a shoot that happened in Binny Mills, we came to know that they were shooting with animals and birds for which they did not take permission for — macaque, cockatoos, pigeons and snakes. But by the time we reached there, someone had moved all of those animals from there. However, we found feathers and bird droppings all around the place.
  • We took a photograph and filed a Community Service Register. And the next week, they applied for permission for the scenes they had already shot. So, we rejected it, saying that they had shot the scenes without getting permissions. We told them to give us the footage of the shoot and the details of the suppliers. Then, they admitted they had made a big mistake by shooting those scenes without taking permission. And assured us that they wouldn’t use those shots. As for the suppliers, they told us that the suppliers had run away and they did not have their details! It was implausible. How could someone run away with animals from the set of a big film with tight security like Mersal? So, the Performing Animals Sub Committee (PASC), which is part of the AWBI, did not give permission.
  • Then, there were scenes of horses and camels being made to perform. So, the committee rejected the NOC for that. Because, when they had come for pre-shoot approval, the committee was told that those animals would only be in the background. But in the actual footage, we found them performing. Finally, they were asked to submit the entire footage of the scenes where animals were used in one CD. They still haven’t submitted it. They told us that the birds used in the film are computer graphics (CG), but haven’t submitted any supporting documents for that yet. Apart from these, the scenes which they told us were shot in Thailand came for NOC last week.
  • In the document they had submitted, they had mentioned that the snake used in it was the king cobra, whose scientific name is Ophiophagus hannah. But the footage had an Indian cobra, the spectacled cobra whose scientific name is Naja naja. Indian cobras come under the Wildlife Protection Act, so we couldn’t give permission. It is because of these three things that the AWBI hasn’t given NOC for the film.”
  • A lot of movies try to cheat us by providing fake documents. Sometimes they say they are shooting in foreign countries and not in India, and they use real animals, but submit fake documents showing that they were created using computer graphics. Apart from this, there are many illegal animal suppliers who help them. The main producer of the film may not be aware of all this, but the people whom he designates the work to go ahead without getting permissions. They get animals from these illegal suppliers and put the movies into trouble. The PASC meets every Wednesday and if the documents are all in place, they give permissions immediately and NOCs after seeing the footages that involve animals.”

Meanwhile, MM Mathialagan, Regional Officer, CBFC, says that the makers shouldn’t have claimed that the film has been certified U/A when the censor formalities haven’t been completed yet. He explains, “I don’t know why the team announced on social media that their project has been censored, which has led to all this confusion now. With such a big project, one which has huge expectations, what the makers did is beyond understanding. In fact, the censor process is happening only now, though I cannot reveal when the board will issue the certificate.”

Actor Vijay met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy at noon today. The meeting, we hear, lasted an hour. The buzz is that Vijay paid a visit to the Chief Minister to thank the State Government for the reduction of entertainment tax by two per cent. Ministers Kadambur Raju was present at the meeting. We hear that the actor didn’t discuss his upcoming Deepavali release with the CM. Mersal stars Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Prabhu in the lead and has music by AR Rahman. The film is directed by Atlee.

Vijay’s 61st movie directed by Atlee completed a major schedule in Chennai with the Ilayathalapathy himself and Nithya Menen. It is now being reported that the team is currently in Jai Salmer the Golden City in Rajasthan for shooting a song and other sequences.

The song in ‘Vijay 61’ is said to have Vijay and Nithya Menen featuring in it for which A. R. Rahman has given a delightful tune. As summer has begun Nithya Menen has shared in an interview that the climate on location is scorching hot but she still loves shooting. The film has an ensemble cast including Samantha, Kajal Agarwal, Vadivelu, Sathyan, Sathyaraj, S. J. Suriya and Kovai Sarala. Sri Thenandaal Films are bankrolling this most awaited film of the year 2017.
