Home Suriya

Our inside report states that director KV Anand is trying hard to get the star onboard for his next with Suriya in the lead. Sources say that the filmmaker is trying to get in touch with Amitabh Bachchan to narrate the story and is sure to impress him with the script. Well, to get clarity on it, we need to wait.

Meanwhile, Suriya’s Thaana Serntha Kootam hit the marquee recently and is doing well at the theatres. The star will now move over to the Selvaraghavan directorial. Reports are that the KV Anand’s film will start rolling after Suriya is done with this project. In the meantime, KV Anand will be completing the groundwork and assembling his star cast.

It may be mentioned here that KV Anand had directed Suriya in Ayan and Maatraan earlier of which the former was smash hit while the latter received a lukewarm response. It needs to be seen how their third venture together would fare at the box office.

After much wait, the Suriya’s film TSK has finally hits the screens today on this Pongal 2018. As expected, the movie is getting a good response from the Overseas audience all over the world. The movie is a heist thriller, Directed by Vignesh Shivan fame of Naanum Rowdydhaan and produced by Surya’s cousin Gnanavel Raja under the banner, Studio Green.

  • It’s apleasure to see Suriya, playing yet another ‘sincere’ character that has lighter, fun shades too.
  • Anirudh’s songs are already a hit and they seamlessly move the narrative forward. Each one is a solitaire diamond and not once does a song protrude unnecessarily.
  • Dinesh Krishnan’s colourful visuals and Sreekar Prasad’s skillful cuts count among TSK’s numerous pluses.
  • Art director Kiran deserves a special mention for giving enough detailing, however the glossy outlook doesn’t give you a period film feel.
  • The pre-interval portion was too good, the emotions were well conveyed.
  • Special appreciation for The climax portion, well structured.
  • Vignesh Shivn’s refreshing character sketches and screenplay that has adapted the story for his audience has left no space for comparison

The heroine (Keerthi Suresh) but perhaps the film would have been much racier without yet another distraction from the actual plot.

Thaanaa Serndha Koottam is a great racy fun ride, packaged well & crisply directed. Worth to watch the film with family this festival season.

Thaana Serndha Koottam team unveiled a special surprise on Monday with the release of the teaser for the film’s second single Sodakku.

The peppy koothu number features a special appearance by none other than Sheril and Anna, the faculty members at the Indian School of Commerce who shot into internet stardom with their rendition of the Jimikki Kammal song from the Malayalam film Velapadinte Pusthakam.

Sheril and Anna’s special appearance at the start of the video. With close to 500,000 views on YouTube at the time of writing, the song teaser is well on the way to going viral.

Actor Suriya won’t be part of the upcoming bilingual film “Mahanati”, a biopic on legendary southern actress Savitri, a source has clarified in response to contrary reports.

“It’s true that Suriya was considered for actor Gemini Ganesan’s role but the offer didn’t materialise. The makers have moved on with the offer for someone else,” a source close to Suriya told IANS. To be directed by Nag Ashwin, the film — to be made in Tamil and Telugu — stars Keerthy Suresh as Savitri.

Also starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a key role, the makers plan to go on the floors from later this month. The rest of the cast and crew are in the process of being finalised.

Suriya’s latest flick Singam 3, which hit the theatres on February 9, 2017, has had a happy run at the box office, so far. The film, directed by Hari, has been receiving some decent reviews from the audiences.

Reportedly, the film has already entered the 100-Crore club(considering the worldwide collections of both the Tamil and Telugu versions). In fact, Singam 3 took just 6 days to collect this whopping amount.

The official twitter page of Studio Green, confirmed the film’s entry to the 100 Crore club.

The box office collections are fascinating, considering the fact that Singam 3 was released during a non-festival season. The film is maintaining its good collections in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andra Pradesh, Telangana and overseas regions, as well.

With no major release lined up for this week, Suriya’s Singam 3 is expected to continue its glorious run at the box office.

Suriya has just confirmed he will work with director Hari for the fourth instalment in the Singam franchise, but the process will take time. Suriya’s Si3, the third instalment in the Singam franchise, released last week.

At the success meet of Si3, Suriya said, “Hari and I will reunite for Singam 4. It is definitely on the cards. But we might do a film before that. We will do Singam 4, say, after five years.” Suriya popularised the character Durai Singam, a duty-fearing, uptight police officer in the Singam franchise.

As we all know that Singam has been a huge success for Suriya and all the three films. The recent one also fared well at the box office. The movie made close to Rs. 90 crores in just 6 days and if it keeps the pace, the film will surely reach the 100 crore mark.

Singam 3 is performing exceptionally, even overseas. We’re already excited for Singham 4. Suriya’s next with Vignesh Shivan – Thaana Serndha Kootam has already gone on floors. It was for this movie, Suriya had to get rid of his handle bar moustache. Suirya will star opposite Keerthy Suresh for the first time.

According to latest box-office reports, Singam 3 has raked in more than Rs 78 crore at the box office. On its opening day, the film is said to have collected Rs 20 crore thereby surpassing the opening day numbers of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Bairavaa, which reportedly grossed Rs 110 crore at the box office.

On its second day, Singam 3 earned Rs 14 crore approximately worldwide. The film witnessed 90 per cent occupancy on Saturday and is said to have collected Rs 15 crore. However, we await an official confirmation from the makers.

Despite piracy threats from a torrent website called Tamil Rockers, the positive word-of-mouth is strong with the Suriya-starrer. It must be noted that Singam 2, which released in 2013, went on to become the second highest grossing Tamil film after Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam.

Singam 3 marks Suriya’s fifth collaboration with director Hari. Notably, the actor-director duo has always struck gold at the box office. Also starring Anushka Shetty, Shruti Haasan and Thakur Anoop Singh, the film has music by Harris Jayaraj.

Meanwhile, Suriya’s forthcoming film with director Vignesh has already gone on the floors. Tipped to be an action entertainer, Thaana Serndha Kootam is expected to release later this year.

Suriya’s last year release 24, which was produced on a massive budget, was critically acclaimed and even managed to generate Rs 100 crore revenue for the makers from the worldwide ticket sales. It wasn’t enough as it was expected to do better than that, given it was released on over 2000 screens worldwide, which was the biggest release for Suirya at the time. Singam 3, meanwhile, has already earned Rs 100 crore even before its release, according to its producers.

So here are the five reasons why Singam will be the biggest blockbuster in Suriya’s career.
